The Cal Lutheran women's soccer team is ranked 19th in the 2018 United Soccer Coaches Preseason Top 25 Poll as recently announced by the organization.
Cal Lutheran secured a 16-4-3 overall record in 2017, highlighted by an 11-1-2 tally in conference play en route to garnering the top seed in the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) Postseason Tournament. The Regals advanced to the tournament semifinals before being knocked off by fourth-seeded Whittier, 3-2 in extra time. Despite the loss, Cal Lutheran notched an at-large bid to the NCAA Division III Championship where it cruised to a 2-0 victory over UC Santa Cruz in the opening round, before advancing on penalty kicks following a 0-0 draw with Pacific Lutheran in the second round. In third round action, the Regals fell to Williams, 4-0.
The Regals begin the 2018 season Friday, August 31 when they travel to Augsburg for a non-conference tilt.
