16 Student-Athletes Honored by IWLCA

Sixteen Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference women's lacrosse student-athletes were named All-Region by the IWLCA on Friday afternoon.

The IWLCA has honored 256 student-athletes in Division III with a selection to one of the All-Region teams for 2017. These student-athletes are now eligible for inclusion on the IWLCA All-American teams, which will be announced on Friday, May 19. The IWLCA will honor the National All-Americans at the IWLCA All-American Banquet on Saturday June 3, 2017 at the Hunt Valley Inn in Hunt Valley, Md.

Nine student-athletes were named to first team including offensive and newcomer athlete of the year Alessandra Pelliccia from Occidental. Joining her from Occidental was junior Sierra Slack and freshman defender Emma Barrow.  Goalkeeper Quinn Egan and midfielder Hanna Morford from Redlands were also named first team. Cara Cancelmo and Evan Murphy from Claremont-Mudd-Scripps earned first team honors along with Rebecca Long from Pomona-Pitzer and Becka Wachtel from Chapman. 

Lacey Bjorndal and Dulce Moll from Redlands were named to the second team along with Dillan Watts and Kelsey Mackin from Chapman. A trio from CMS also represented the SCIAC on second team as Katie Hill, Lauren Clubb and Emily Cohen picked up IWLCA honors.
