Claremont, CA - The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women's lacrosse team fell in the second round of the women's lacrosse NCAA Tournament 15-12 to Colorado College on Sunday afternoon.
The Tigers and Athenas would essentially exchange goals in the first half as Colorado would take a slim 7-6 lead at half. CC opened the second half with three unanswered goals before Lauren Club would score to make it 10-7. The Athenas would again pull it to a three-goal deficit when Corie Hack would score to cut the lead to 13-10. In a crucial swing Annie DeFrino and Eva King would score for the Tigers for the 15-10 lead they would never relinquish. Emily Cohen led CMS with four goals while Clubb and Hack each chipped in with three.
Colorado College (15-4) faces the winner of William Smith (18-1) and Westfield State (14-5) in the third round next weekend.
