Six SCIAC Women's Golfers Nab WGCA Honors

The Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) had six women's golfers earn Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) All-West Region honors, while four of the six were tabbed WGCA All-Americans by the organization. 

Mira Yoo and Amy Xue of Claremont-Mudd-Scripps (CMS), Keilee Bessho and Annie Hay of Redlands, Taylor Beckwith of Whittier and Emily Lewis of Chapman were each named WGCA All-West Region honorees following outstanding 2018-19 seasons. Yoo, Xue, Hay, Beckwith and Lewis were all tabbed First Team All-SCIAC performers, while Bessho earned a spot on the all-conference second team. 

Yoo, who finished the three-day SCIAC Championship in third place overall, was voted a WGCA First Team All-American, while Hay and Bessho were named Second Team All-Americans by the organization. Hay was the individual runner-up at the SCIAC Championship. Earning Honorable Mention All-American status was Beckwith who, along with Chapman's Lewis, is representing the SCIAC at the NCAA Division III Championship as an individual. 

With two days played at the NCAA Championships in Houston, CMS - the defending national champion and the 2019 SCIAC Champion and automatic qualifier - is currently fourth with a team score of 618 (315-303), while Redlands (306-327-633) received an at-large berth and is currently standing in ninth place. 

Xue, the 2019 SCIAC Championship individual medalist, is tied for ninth overall at 151 strokes (76-75), while Yoo is two shots back at 153 (79-74). Bessho (75-77-152) and Hay (75-78-153) lead the Bulldogs, while Beckwith and Lewis have turned in respective tallies of 73-80-153 and 78-78-156.
