CMS Leads Field Following Day 2 Action at NCAA Women's Golf Championships

The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps (CMS) women's golf team is leading the field of 25 teams after 36 holes of the 2018 NCAA Division III Championship Tournament at the Mission Inn Resort at El Campeón Golf Course in Howey-in-the-Hills, Fla. on Wednesday.

CMS shot a collective round of 317 on Wednesday and is now at 628 over the first 54 holes and has a five stroke lead over second place Williams (311-322-633). New York University (NYU) is third (321-317-638), while Carnegie Mellon is in fourth with a combined score of 639 (321-318). Rounding out the top five teams is George Fox (326-321-647).

The Athenas' Margaret Loncki is currently tied for the individual lead after carding a two-over-par 75 on day two and now has a combined score of 152 along with NYU's Navika Kuchakulla. Caroline Ordian of Redlands also shot 75 on Wednesday and is tied for third overall, and leads the field of individuals with an overall total of 153. Loncki currently shares the lead in birdies with nine, while Ordian is one of three players to post an eagle. 

Mira Yoo finished three strokes behind Loncki posting her second straight round of 78 for a collective score of 156 and is now tied for seventh overall. Emma Kang is tied for 15th overall (79-80-159) while Emily Attiyeh and Kelly Ransom have each registered two-day totals of 167. 

Round three is set for Thursday at El Campeón Golf Course in Howey-in-the-Hills, Fla.
