California Lutheran alum Kelli DiMuro was recently announced as the new head coach of the women's basketball program after serving as the head girls' basketball coach at Chaminade College Preparatory in West Hills, Calif., for the past 22 years.
"Coming back to coach in the women's basketball program at Cal Lutheran has been of dream of mine for so many years," said DiMuro. "The Regal Violet and Gold spirit runs deep in my veins and gave me the confidence I needed to succeed in life. Now, it is my turn to get a chance to bring that same pride and passion to the women's team."
DiMuro led the Eagles to a 437-197 overall record as the head coach at Chaminade alongside four CIF Southern Section Championships (2013, 14, 15, 19), four California State Regional Finals (2013, 14, 15, 16), and two state titles (2014, 16).
Her leadership additionally garnered her three State Coach of the Year, four CIFSS Coach of the Year and two Southern California Interscholastic Basketball Coaches Association Coach of the Year selections. The media also took notice with the Los Angeles Daily News honoring DiMuro as a three-time Coach of the Year and the Los Angeles Times awarded her their Coach of the Year award in 2016.

She brings with her a wealth of coaching experience that will be outstanding for the program," said Jim McHugh, Cal Lutheran Vice President of Athletic Affairs, "It is always great to have a CLU alum back coaching the sport they played as a student. She is a superb addition to the department and the university."
In her collegiate career at Cal Lutheran, DiMuro was voted a two-time all-conference first team selection, team MVP and team captain during the 1994 and 1995 seasons, and led the program to the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championship title in 1995.
