The Pomona-Pitzer women's basketball team will represent the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) in the NCAA Division III Championship with first round action set to begin Friday, March 1.
Pomona-Pitzer (22-5), which won its first-ever SCIAC Postseason Tournament title after making its first appearance in the conference postseason, will take on pod-host No. 14 Wisconsin-Oshkosh (24-3). DePauw (24-4) and Loras (22-5) will contest the other first round game in the pod and the winners will meet on Saturday, March 2.
Pomona-Pitzer earned the second seed in the program's first-ever SCIAC Postseason Tournament after notching a 14-2 record in league play. The Sagehens won six straight to close out the regular season and then posted a 75-62 win over Chapman in the tournament semifinal, before besting rival Claremont-Mudd-Scripps (CMS) 60-57 in the title game. The Athenas handed Pomona-Pitzer its two conference losses during the season.
Wisconsin-Oshkosh won the WIAC automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament with a 69-40 win over Wisconsin-Whitewater and enters the tournament having won six straight.
