Game 3: No. 1 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps (CMS) def. No. 3 Chapman, 3-1
After Chapman took an early 1-0 lead on a sacrifice fly by Samantha Whalen in the bottom of the first inning, CMS responded with a run in the top of the third and a pair in the top of the fifth as Ananya Koneti cracked an RBI double to right center field and then drove in two with a base-hit to left field to help the Athenas to a 3-1 win. Lauren Richards earned the win in the circle allowing one run on three hits while striking out four batters.
Game 4: No. 2 Pomona-Pitzer def. No. 4 Whittier, 6-5 (10 innings)
A back-and-forth contest saw Pomona-Pitzer holding a 3-1 lead after four complete frames. in the bottom of the fifth, Whittier struck for two runs as Sierra Rodriguez reached on a fielder's choice that allowed a run to score, while Brianna MaGee drove in a run to make it 3-3. The Poets took a 5-3 lead when Ashlei Sanchez muscled a two-run double to left center. The Sagehens battled back as Katy Hurley and Karina Falkstrom each drove in a run in the top of the seventh to make it 5-5 and force extra innings. After a pair of scoreless frames, Falkstrom what stood as the game-winning run off the bat of Olivia Campion who single to center field.
Game 5: No. 4 Whittier versus No. 1 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps - halted at 5-4 in favor of Whittier in the bottom of the sixth due to darkness.
Game 5: Will resume Sunday, May 5 at 10 a.m.
