Game 1: No. 4 Whittier defeats No. 1 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps (CMS), 8-3
After falling behind, 2-0 in the bottom of the first, Whittier exploded for seven runs in the top of the second. Janelle Ha got the scoring started with an RBI double to right center and Jade Sanchez drove in two runs to highlight the Poets' offensive surge. Ha earned the win in the circle allowing three runs on three hits in a complete-game effort.
Game 2: No. 2 Pomona-Pitzer defeats No. 3 Chapman, 6-2
After two scoreless innings of play, Pomona-Pitzer struck first, as Liz Rodarte tagged an RBI double to right center to give the Sagehens a 1-0 lead after three frames. Pomona-Pitzer added four runs to its lead in the bottom of the fourth as Baleigh McCuskey connected for a two-run double, while Megan Otsuka added an RBI triple. Izzy Deatherage then cracked an RBI double to help the Sagehens pull away to the 6-2 win. Rodarte earned the win allowing two runs on six hits while striking out two in a complete-game effort.
