SCIAC Well Represented in NCAA Tennis Singles and Doubles Selections

The men's and women's tennis selections for the individual championship were announced on Wednesday and the SCIAC was well represented in both singles and doubles. 

On the men's side a trio of Stags were selected as seniors Daniel Morkovine and Glenn Hull will be joined by freshman Nikolai Parodi.  Senior Jake Yasgoor from Pomona-Pitzer will also be making the trip to Chattanooga. Sophomore Chase Lipscomb from Redlands is making his second straight appearance in the singles competition. Parker Wilson from Redlands is the first singles alternate. 

On the doubles side Spencer Simonides and Antony Bello from Pomona-Pitzer and Jake Ly and Joey Dulle from Redlands will represent the SCIAC. 

On the women's side five singles players will be in the tournament field. Catherine Allen and Nicole Tan will represent the Athenas, Caroline Casper and Maryann Zhao were selected from Pomona-Pitzer and Sarah Ikioka from Redlands will be making her NCAA debut as a freshman. 

On the doubles side Allen and Katie Kousman and Lindsay Brown and Tan from CMS were chosen. Emily Chen and Zhao will represent Pomona-Pitzer while Ikioka and Elizabeth Johnson from Redlands were selected as well. Casper and Arianna Chen are the fouth alternate doubles team. 

The team championship will take place May 22-24, and the individual championships May 25-27, both at The Champions Tennis Club in Chattanooga, Tennessee, and will be hosted by the University of the South and the Chattanooga Sports Commission.
