The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps men's tennis team will face American Southwest Conference champion Texas-Tyler on Friday, May 12 at 10:00 a.m. The No. 23 ranked Patriots earned earned their fourth straight ASC Men’s Tennis Championship with a 5-0 win over UT Dallas.
UT Tyler boasts the American Southwest Conference East Division Most Valuable Player Arthur Fagundes who compiled a 12-1 singles mark at No. 1 singles. Daniel Rodriquez was named the ASC East Freshman of the Year.
The Stags ranked No. 3 compiled a 28-3 record with strong and consistent singles play all season. CMS has the No. 1, No. 4 and No. 7 singles players in the West Region with Nicholai Parodi, Glenn Hull and Daniel Morkovine. The Stags captured their 12th straight SCIAC Championship with a 5-3 win over No. 11 Redlands after coming back from a 3-0 deficit after doubles.
The other matchup features the Southern Collegiate Athletic Champion Trinity (Tx) against Northwest Conference Champion Whitman.
