Whittier College to host SCIAC Golf Championships April 26-28

PASADENA, Calif – The three-time defending SCIAC champion Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women's golf team begins play at the three-round 2015 SCIAC Championships on April 26 at 12 p.m. in Beaumont, Calif. at Oak Valley Golf Club. The Championships run for three days, April 26-28.

The Athenas head into the SCIAC Championships second behind Redlands who has a considerable lead over the rest of the pack in conference. With the aggregate score of all conference rounds determining the champion, the Bulldogs sit in prime position with a 43-stroke lead on second-place C-M-S.  Nonetheless, Redlands needs to finish strong at the final three rounds during the SCIAC Championships. Besides CMS, Whittier (3rd), Cal Lu (4th) and Pomona-Pitzer (5th) are all in the mix for second place in a tight race.

The No. 1 University of Redlands men's golf team looks forward to competing in the three-day SCIAC Championship Tournament. Two-time All-American senior Bobby Holden (Simi Valley, CA) leads the charge for the Bulldogs. He is the reigning NCAA Division III Individual Champion and has hauled a plethora of hardware throughout his career.

The University of La Verne men’s golf team rides right on the heels of the Bulldogs posting a 30-stroke difference between first and second place coming into the Championships. Claremont-Mudd-Scripps is a stroke behind the Leopards in third and the Cal Lutheran men’s team in fourth just 35-strokes back from the leaders.
