Deeb, Dees Garner All-American Honors

> All-American Release

Elias Deeb of Chapman and Obasi Dees of California Lutheran represented the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) as All-Americans as recently announced by the organization.

Deeb earned All-America Second Team honors following a stellar performance this season. The honor comes after the punter was selected to the All-West Region First Team and the All-SCIAC First Team earlier this year.

Deeb helped the Panthers rank second in the nation in net punting, averaging 37.56 net punting yards per game. He averaged a career-high 42.0 yards per punt, ranking first in the SCIAC and fourth in the nation. The Newport Beach, Calif. native was crucial in reversing field position for the Panthers this season. Deeb pinned opponents inside their own 20-yard line 13 times this season while putting just one punt in the end zone for a touchback.

This is Deeb's second All-America recognition after being honored as an All-American Honorable Mention after the 2016 season.

Dees, a cornerback from Antioch, Calif., earns his first All-America honor and the first for the program since 2012. Dees was named Honorable Mention All-American on defense. Dees previously earned First Team All-West Region and was named First Team All-SCIAC for the third consecutive year.

The junior has been a staple in the Kingsmen secondary. Dees has stood out as a top corner, not only in the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC), but also in the nation. This year has proved that as opposing offenses have gone to whichever side of the field Dees is not.
