The Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) had 13 baseball players win All-West Region recognition as recently announced by the organization.

Tyler Peck of Chapman was voted the West Region Pitcher of the Year and first team all-region selection, while Dane Goodman of Whittier was tabbed the 2019 West-Region Rookie of the Year and a second team all-region honoree. Panthers' head coach Scott Laverty was also named the 2019 West Region Coach of the Year.

In 15 appearances so far in 2019, Peck - a First Team All-SCIAC selection earlier this month - has logged a 7-3 record on the hill with a conference best 142 strikeouts in 98.2 innings pitched, averaging 12.95 strikeouts per nine frames pitched. Of his 31 runs allowed, just 20 are earned as he now has a 1.82 ERA.

Goodman, who was also voted the SCIAC Newcomer of the Year and a First Team All-SCIAC outfielder, produced the league's second-best batting average (.390). He notched 46 hits, including five doubles, four triples, four home runs, and 32 RBI in his debut season for the Poets.

The 2019 SCIAC Coaching Staff of the Year award recipient, Laverty and the Panthers' staff guided Chapman to the top seed in this year's SCIAC Postseason Tournament and the tournament crown. His squad notched a 7-0 victory over California Lutheran in game one of the double-elimination tournament before securing a 4-1 win over La Verne. They then beat the Kingsmen, 5-2 in the finale to seal their second straight tournament championship.

Also named to the All-West Region first team was Pomona-Pitzer's designated hitter Jeremy Jess; the 2019 SCIAC Athlete of the Year at the utility position Christopher Peres of La Verne; the 2019 SCIAC Pitcher of the Year Nolan McCarthy of Occidental; and Nick Garcia of Chapman as a relief pitcher who also earned First Team All-SCIAC honors.

Leopards' catcher Adam Santa Cruz, Goodman, and Chapman's starting pitcher Jonathan Hernandez were voted second team all-region, while Jake Fredrickson and Reid Gibbs of Occidental; Zach Clarke and Justin Hull of Claremont-Mudd-Scripps (CMS); and Cal Lutheran's Tanner Wright were voted to all-region third team. Fredrickson and Gibbs earned the distinction as first and second basemen, while Clarke and Hull play shortstop and pitcher respectively. Wright is the Kingsmen's third baseman. Santa Cruz, Fredrickson, Clarke, Hull and Wright were all all-conference first teammers, while Hernandez and Gibbs secured Second Team All-SCIAC praise.
