NCAA Baseball Championship - Chapman to Host Regional

The Chapman baseball team - the automatic bid winners from the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) for the second year in a row - will host Whitman in a best-of-five series held over three days beginning Friday, May 17-19 at Hart Park in Orange, Calif. 

The first game of the Regional is set for 11 a.m. on Friday, May 17 at Hart Park. The next game will be played 45 minutes after the first one ends. Game three will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 18. If necessary, game four will start 45 minutes after the completion of game three and game five will be held on Sunday, May 19.

Chapman enters NCAA postseason play with a 33-9 overall record. The top seed in the SCIAC Postseason Tournament, the Panthers outscored its oppents 16-3 over the span of three games including a 7-0 victory over California Lutheran on day one, a 4-1 victory over La Verne, and a 5-2 win over the Kingsmen in the championship game to seal its second straight title. 

Chapman played Whitman (26-18) earlier this season picking up an 8-5 win on February 9 in Tucson, Ariz.
