Thousand Oaks, CA - No. 1 seed Cal Lutheran and No. 3 Redlands faced off in the championship game on Saturday afternoon with the Bulldogs needing to win to force an if-necessary game.
CLU would get on the board first in the bottom of the second as Cheynne Giles singled to right field, and Weston Clark scored. The Kingsmen would tag on another run in the bottom of the sixth as Clark singled through the right side and Gabe Gunter scored. Redlands would tie the game up in the top of the seventh when Mitch Samson singled to right field and Andrew Renteria scored. Christian Conci would then single to left field and Will Hall would score.
In the bottom of the eighth Clark would pick up his second RBI of the day for CLU when he singled to center field driving in Sinjin Todd for the go-ahead run.
Cal Lutheran (31-10) will await its regional site destination when the NCAA Selection Show airs next Sunday, May 14 at a time to be determined.
