The Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) notched a nation-best 143 combined all-region selections as recently released by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).
The top-5 individuals in each event from each region earned USTFCCCA All-Region honors, in addition to each of the members of a top-3 ranked relay teams. A total of 1915 honors were handed out to athletes from USTFCCCA member institutions, which included a near-even split between men's (951) and women's programs (964).
No conference earned more combined All-Region honors than the SCIAC with 143. The American Rivers Conference was a close runner-up with 140, while the WIAC and the NESCAC came in third and fourth with 131 and 125, respectively.
On the men's side, California Lutheran and Chapman had four selections each, Claremont-Mudd-Scripps (CMS) had 22, La Verne had three, Occidental had 11, Pomona-Pitzer notched 13, Redlands landed 15, and Whittier added three.
On the women's side, Caltech had one representative, Cal Lutheran had four, CMS added nine selections, La Verne and Occidental totaled 10 honorees each, Pomona-Pitzer secured 13 selections, Redlands had 15, and Whittier added seven.
