Chino Hills, CA - After Day 2 of the SCIAC Golf Championship Tournament the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women extended their lead to 41 strokes over second place Redlands by firing a team score of 301 on Monday. Through the six rounds that count towards the SCIAC Champion CMS currently sits at 1878. Redlands, the defending 2016 SCIAC Champion, is in second at 1919. Kelly Ransom of CMS had the low round of the day at 73. CMS had the other two low scores of the afternoon as Emma Kang carded a 74 and Taylor Hughes a 75. Hughes, Kang and Andi Chaloult from Pomona-Pitzer are the individual leaders.
Pomona-Pitzer shot the second lowest team score of the day at 307 for a total of 1944 over the six rounds. Cal Lutheran fired a 313 for a total of 1978 in fourth place. Whittier is in sixth with a 330 on Monday and 1997 total. Chapman, Occidental and La Verne did not score as a team but had individuals compete.

On the men's side CMS shot the low of the day at 291 to pull within four strokes of leader La Verne. CMS' six round total is 1782 while La Verne is at 1778 after a 299 score on the second day. Redlands also shot a 299 on Monday for a total of 1798. Cal Lutheran and Occidental are tied for fourth both with a 1819 score after six rounds. Cal Lutheran fired a 298 on day 2 while Occidental shot 292. Pomona-Pitzer is one stroke behind at 1820 while Chapman (1832) and Whittier (1858) round out the top eight.
Sam Miller from Occidental had the low score of the day at 67 for a two round total of 143 (-1). Johnny Brandt and Jonathan Shaw of CMS along with Conor Rooney all fired a 71 on the second day for the low scores of the day. Miller, Shaw and Nate Gray (CLU) are currently the top three individual leaders.
