Reischling earned his second straight SCIAC Athlete of the Week mention after leading the Sagehens to a third place finish at the Principia Pre-Nationals meet. The junior harrier from Seattle, Wash. placed fourth overall with a time of 24:56.65.
|Women's Cross Country Athlete of the Week|
Sophomore • Runner • Orange, California
Ramirez of Redlands notched her first SCIAC Athlete of the Week honor after placing fourth overall with a time of 22:13.87 at the Pomona-Pitzer Invitational. The sophomore from Orange, Calif., the Bulldogs’ top runner at the event, helped Redlands secure a third place team finish in the race.

Senior • Quarterback • Irvine, California
Bautista led Chapman to a 45-26 victory as the Panthers remained unbeaten in SCIAC competition and improve to 3-0. Baustista was 21-for-29 through the air for 414 yards, becoming the first Chapman quarterback to throw for over 400 yards in multiple games in his career. He tossed four touchdown passes for the second straight week and also found the endzone with his legs for the Panthers’ first score of the game. The senior from Irvine, Calif. hurled scoring passes of 69, 29, 21, and 28 yards.

Garcia paced Cal Lutheran to a 2-0 week as the Kingsmen registered a pair of SCIAC shutouts against Caltech (3-0) and Occidental (1-0). In Cal Lutheran’s 3-0 victory over the Beavers, Garcia turned away five shots, while fending off both shots on target he faced against the Tigers. The Kingsmen improved to 7-2-1 in conference play with the two wins.

Sophomore • Defender • Covina, California
Cobian guided La Verne to a 2-0 week with SCIAC wins over Occidental (3-2) and Pomona-Pitzer (1-0) to help the Leopards improve to 5-2-3 in league play. Against the Tigers, Cobian headed in a goal on a corner kick to knot the game at 2-2. La Verne eventually scored the game-winner with 18 seconds left in regulation. Against the Sagehens, the Covina, Calif. native assisted on what stood as the game-winning goal as the Leopards held on for a thrilling, 1-0 victory.
|Volleyball Athlete of the Week|
Sophomore • Setter • Moreno Valley, California
Purdom directed Whittier to a 3-0 week which featured league victories over Chapman (3-1), Pomona-Pitzer (3-1) and Occidental (3-2) as the Poets improved to 8-3 in SCIAC action. The sophomore setter dished out 95 assists during the three matches including a collegiate career-high 35 in a five-set win over the Tigers. In addition to averaging 7.31 helpers per set, Purdom notched 34 digs (2.62 per frame) and added 21 digs against Occidental. During the three-match stretch, Purdom registered at least 28 assists in each contest.
|Men's Water Polo Athlete of the Week|
Senior • Goalkeeper • St. Louis, Missouri
Diemer was tremendous in goal for Pomona-Pitzer during the week, helping the Sagehens to a 3-1 week which featured wins over Johns Hopkins (11-9), Brown (7-6), and MIT (8-7). Pomona-Pitzer’s lone setback came to Harvard, 11-5. Diemer totaled 41 saves over the course of four games, including a 16-save effort in the Sagehens’ upset win over Brown.
