|Baseball Athlete of the Week|
Senior • 1B • Redlands, Calif.
Michaels of La Verne led the Leopards to a 3-0 week that featured a SCIAC sweep of Whittier (9-6, 10-4, 7-6). Michaels went 8-for-15 with two doubles, two triples, a home run and nine RBI in addition to scoring four runs. In addition to logging a .533 batting average for the week, he also registered 26 putouts and four assists on 30 total chances.

Borden helped lead La Verne to a SCIAC sweep of Whittier (4-3, 2-1) and Redlands (2-1, 4-1) hitting .500 in the process with four hits, six runs scored, a triple, two home runs, and three RBI. She connected for a two-run homer in the ninth inning to help seal the Leopards' to the extra-innings victory in game one.

Parodi was named the SCIAC Athlete of the Week for the fourth time this season after winning back-to-back Ojai Division III singles and doubles titles on Sunday. Parodi defeated Pomona-Pitzer’s Jed Kronenberg 6-2, 6-0 in the singles championship match, and then later paired with junior Julian Gordy to capture the doubles crown. Parodi and Gordy defeated Caltech’s Varun Shanker and James Wei 6-4, 6-7(4), 6-3.

Zhao of Pomona-Pitzer earned her second SCIAC Athlete of the Week honor of the season after helping the Sagehens to a 9-0 win over Redlands in the regular season finale. Zhao and her doubles partner Arianna Chen took down Sarah Ikoka and Elizabeth Johnson 8-4. She followed up with a pair of 6-0 sweeps over Johnson in singles.
