The SCIAC Athletes of the Week have been named and the honorees are: CMS' Aaron Gonzales (football) and Redlands' Avery Kelly (women's cross country).
CMS: Aaron Gonzales, Football
The senior quarterback from Carpinteria passed for three touchdowns
and ran for another in CMS' 30-27 double-overtime win over Cal
Lutheran. He completed eight of 15 passes for 191 yards and rushed
11 times for 44 yards. His third touchdown pass, a 67-yarder with
under two minutes remaining in the game, tied the game at 20. His
rushing touchdown was scored in the first overtime. On the season
he has completed 51 of 80 passes for 673 yards and seven touchdowns
(with only one interception) for a pass efficiency rating of 160.8.
He also leads the team in rushing with 289 yards on 69 carries with
five touchdowns. CMS is 3-2 overall and 1-1 in SCIAC.
UR: Avery Kelly, Cross Country
Avery Kelly won the SCIAC Multi-Dual meet with a time of 22:04.50
on the 6K course and led the Bulldogs to a 7-0 showing at the
event. She was 1:27 faster than the second-place runner, who was
also from Redlands.
