Starla Wright was named the 2012 Posada Royale Winter Classic Most
Outstanding Player after leading the Regals to a 2-0 weekend as she
averaged 17.5 points per game. The senior from Los Angeles, Calif.
was the lone Regal in double-figures as Cal Lutheran overcame a
17-point second half deficit to defeat Scranton 44-42 on day one of
the tournament. She finished with a 14-point, 13-rebounds
double-double and was responsible for the game-winning basket.
Going up against UC Santa Cruz on Monday, Wright continued her
versatile ways, scoring 21 points while also recording six steals
in CLU's 66-58 victory over the Slugs. Overall in 2012 Wright is
averaging over 16 points and nine rebounds per game.
