Cal Lutheran moved into a tie atop the SCIAC standings after
earning a 64-60 comeback victory on the road knocking off
then-conference unbeaten Redlands on Saturday. In that victory
Whitley led the team in scoring off the bench, as she has done the
past four games, with 17 points including 14 in the second half to
lead the come-from-behind effort. She also led the Regals with four
assists and a pair of steals in the weekend win. On Thursday she
scored a career-high 22 points in only 18 minutes during a victory
over Pomona-Pitzer. She matched her previous personal-best of 17 by
halftime and added three steals, a pair of assists and a block in
limited action. Whitley currently leads the SCIAC with 44 steals
and is the Regals top-scorer averaging 11.4 points per game while
averaging just over 21 minutes of floor time per contest.
Emma Jones, Claremont-Mudd-Scripps
Women's Swimming
(SO, - Eugene, OR)
Jones won two individual events and was on a winning relay to help
lead CMS to a home win over Occidental 169-68. She won the 200 free
with an NCAA 'B' mark of 1:55.29. She won the 500 free with a
personal best of 5:11.15 which is the sixth best in CMS history.
She anchored the winning 400 free relay with the fastest split of
54.85.
