Junior forward from West Covina, Carrillo shot 69% from the field (18-26) and combined for 43 points in leading La Verne to conference victories over Pomona-Pitzer and Whittier. In La Verne's 85-65 home win over Pomona-Pitzer in the league opener (Jan. 8), she tallied game highs of 19 points and 9 rebounds, connecting on 8 of her 11 field goal attempts. Carrillo also paced the Leopards in a 66-58 road triumph over Whittier (Jan. 10), posting a double-double with a game-high 24 points on 10-of-15 shooting along with a team-high of 10 rebounds. Carrillo is averaging 12.7 points and 6.5 rebounds per game in 2008-09 while the Leopards are 10-2 overall and 2-0 in SCIAC play.
