SCIAC Women's Basketball Tournament Semi-Final Results

As the inaugural SCIAC Women's Basketball Tournament semi-finals come to an end, the top two teams in the conference will face off in the final game Saturday night.

SCIAC Champions and top seeded Occidental College Tigers defeated #4 seed California Lutheran University 69-47 on Thursday night.  Senior Stacie Roshon led the Tigers with a game high 24 points and exceeding the 1,500 point mark during the game.   Occidental improves to 21-5 while the Regals season ends at 13-12. 

The University of La Verne (2) defeated the University of Redlands (3) with a final score of 65-60 in a tough battle at Frantz Athletic Court.  La Verne swept the Bulldogs in three games this season and senior Trenecca Jones collected her 14th double-double.  Redlands ends its season at 17-9, while the Leopards improve 19-7.

The competition will resume on Saturday March 1st as the Occidental Tigers host the Leopards of La Verne with tip-off scheduled for 5:00 p.m.  The winner of the SCIAC Tournament Championship game will earn the SCIAC's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament, the bracket will be announced on Monday March 3.
