La Verne Opens NCAA Tournament Action At
Puget Sound

The University of La Verne women's basketball team will open
NCAA Tournament action in the Pacific Northwest to take on
Northwest Conference Tournament champion Puget Sound on the
Loggers' home court in Tacoma, WA., on Friday, March 7.
Puget Sound (22-4) is ranked #22 in the latest D3hoops.com Top 25
Poll while holding the #3 spot in the West Region rankings. The
Loggers tied for the NWC regular season title with George Fox
University. UPS topped George Fox 62-52 in the conference
tournament final on Feb. 29.
La Verne (20-7) is making its fourth NCAA appearance and second
consecutive trip to the NCAAs after defeating Occidental 79-51 in
the inaugural SCIAC Championship Tournament on Saturday to secure
an automatic berth to the 63-team field.
