SCIAC Honors Female Athlete of the Week: La Verne's Trenecca Jones

A junior forward from Ontario, Jones helped propel the Leopards (20-7) to the championship of the inaugural SCIAC Women's Basketball Tournament.  Jones registered game highs of 17 points and 18 rebounds in La Verne's 65-60 triumph at home over Redlands in the conference semifinals on Feb. 28.  She followed that effort with a 20-point, 12-rebound performance in ULV's 79-51 victory of Occidental in the finals on March 1 in Eagle Rock to record her fifth consecutive double-double and 15th overall this season.   Jones shot 50% (6-of-12) from the field against the Tigers while connecting on all 8 of her free throw attempts.
