SCIAC Honors Female Athlete of the Week:  La Verne's Trenecca Jones

Congratulations to La Verne's Trenecca Jones for being named the SCIAC Female Athlete of the Week!

The sophomore forward from Ontario scored a career-high and SCIAC season-best of 37 points to go along with 14 rebounds in La Verne's 78-68 win over Occidental on Feb. 20 to clinch the school's third conference championship in school history.  She followed that effort with her 15th double-double of the season by scoring 20 points and grabbing 12 rebounds in a 92-55 triumph over Pomona-Pitzer on Feb. 22 as the Leopards finished the regular season with a 12-2 league record.  In overall statistics, Jones led the SCIAC in scoring (17.6), rebounding (10.8) and field goal percentage (.524).
