SCIAC Female Athlete of the Week

Congratulations to La Verne's Marissa Raya for being named the SCIAC Female Athlete of the Week!

ULV:  Marissa Raya, Basketball
A junior from Pasadena, Raya collected 38 points in La Verne's two road victories over Whittier and Cal Lutheran to grab sole possession of first place in the league standings.  Raya tallied a game-high 21 points in ULV's 58-53 triumph over the Poets on Feb. 8.  She followed that performance with a 17-point, 6-rebound, 2-block effort in the Leopards' 67-66 win over the Regals on Feb. 10.  Among SCIAC leaders, Raya ranks second in scoring and free throw percentage while ranking third overall in three-point field goals, steals and blocks.
