SCIAC Honors Female Athlete of the Week:  La Verne's Brianna Gonzales

ULV:  Brianna Gonzales, Volleyball
A senior from Whittier, Gonzales was named the Most Outstanding Player of the NCAA West Regional as she helped propel La Verne to the region championship and a berth in the NCAA Quarterfinal in Bloomington, Illinois.  Gonzales totaled a match-high 27 kills in a 3-1 triumph over Cal Lutheran in the championship match, while also registering 12 digs to collect a double-double.  Against Nebraska Wesleyan a night earlier, she recorded 16 kills and 19 digs in a 3-1 triumph over the Prairie Wolves in semifinal action.  The 2008 SCIAC Player of the Year, Gonzales was also named to the 2008 All-West Region team.
