CMS and Pomona-Pitzer each had quite a day on day three of the 2017 NCAA DIII Swimming and Diving National Championships at the CISD Natatorium in Shenandoah, Texas.
Coming off of an All-American performance on Thursday, Matt Williams from CMS placed second overall in the men’s 100 Back (47.90) earning 17 points for the Stags. He was edged by Ben Lin of Williams (46.62).
Sarah Jin and Angela Ling each placed in the women’s 100 Back finals earning points for the Sagehens. Jin placed ninth (55.51) earning eight points and Ling (55.68) tied with Athanasia Beasley from Emory for 11th for 5.5 points.
CMS’ Kelly Ngo also placed in the event, earning three points for a 14th-place finish (55.26).
Maia Presti took 10th overall on the 1M board for CMS with a score of 406.70 for seven team points.
In the women’s 800 Free relay, CMS finished 16th to earn two team points (7:46.55).
In the men’s 100 Breast, Thomas Gallup from Caltech earned six team points by placing 11th overall in a time of 55.06.
The Pomona-Pitzer men’s 800 Free relay took fifth overall (6:44.00)
Jocelyn Crawford competed in the 100 Back prelims (56.40) and Claire Bacon-Brenes from CMS competed in the 100 Breast (1:04.34).
Also on the men’s side, George Abele (Pomona-Pitzer) competed in the prelims of the 200 Fly.
