2017 SCIAC Men's Cross Country Athletes of the Week

Barkan helped guide Occidental to a first place finish at the season-opening Occidental/Pomona-Pitzer/La Verne Triangular Meet on Sept. 1. The junior harrier from San Anselmo, Calif. clocked a time of 20:55.10 to finish second overall as seven Oxy runners placed in the top 10.

Sandoval paced Whittier to 26th place at the UC Riverside Invitational, notching a program-record time of 24:33 in the 8,000-meter jaunt. He finished 17th overall in the field, and was the fastest finisher of any SCIAC competition.

D'Anieri clocked a time of 25:10.1 in the 8-kilometer race en route to a fourth place overall finish as CMS won the Cal State San Bernardino Invitational. The sophomore runner from Wellesley, Mass. was the fastest Division III runner in the field of eight teams.

Reischling directed Pomona-Pitzer to an 8-0 record during the SCIAC Multi-Duals at La Mirada Regional Park. The junior harrier turned in a speedy time of 25:22.86 to claim individual champion honors, setting a new course record in the process.

Reischling earned his second straight SCIAC Athlete of the Week mention after leading the Sagehens to a third place finish at the Principia Pre-Nationals meet. The junior harrier from Seattle, Wash. placed fourth overall with a time of 24:56.65.
