USTFCCCA Announces Division
III Men's and Women's XC All-Academic Teams
The USTFCCCA announced the 2008
All-Academic teams for both Men's and Women's Cross Country.
A total of seven (7) SCIAC female student-athletes and five
(5) males were named to the team.
On the women's side, CMS' Kathleen Harris (SR) and
Julia Rigby (FR) were joined by Occidental's
Grace Peck (JR), Pomona-Pitzer's Alicia
Freese (JR) and Maddy Kieselhorst (SR)
and Whittier's Darlene Partida and Michele
Callaway.
Representing the SCIAC on the men's team included CMS
Stags Chris Gurney (SR) and Florian
Scheulen (JR), Pomona-Pitzer seniors Torrey
Olson and Brendan Randall-Myers and
Occidental Freshman and SCIAC XC Male Athlete of the Year,
Eric Kleinsasser.
A total of 221 Division III female student-athletes received the
2008 USTFCCCA Cross Country All-Academic honor, along with 132 male
student-athletes. The award honors those student-athletes who
have succeeded both academically and athletically. To be
eligible for the award a student-athlete must carry a minimum 3.5
cumulative grade point average and must finish in the top 25
percent of the field at their respective NCAA regional meet.
