SCIAC Honors Athletes of Week: P-P's Leer, UR's Kelly

The SCIAC Athletes of the Week have been named and the honorees are: P-P's Will Leer (men's cross country) and UR's Avery Kelly (women's cross country).

P-P: Will Leer, Cross Country
Will Leer won the men's cross country SCIAC Multi-Dual meet on Friday with a time of 26:12.70. Leer defeated teammate and 2 time SCIAC Runner of the Year Crosby Freeman (2nd place) for the second consecutive race. The junior paced four Sagehens into the top five positions and five in the top seven.

UR: Avery Kelly, Cross Country
Avery Kelly, a freshman from Fort Worth, Texas, won the SCIAC Multi-Duals on Friday with a time of 23:42.30. She was a full 17 seconds ahead of the 2nd place runner. Avery only began competing in cross country as a junior in high school and has since excelled as Redlands' top carrier.
