COLLEGIATE WATER POLO ASSOCIATION ANNOUNCES 2007 MEN'S PRESEASON POLL
Seven SCIAC teams in the Top 10

The Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) has released the Division III Top 10 Poll and includes seven SCIAC teams.  According to the CWPA, theDivision III poll saw the closest finish in the history of the preseason poll as University of Redlands, which finished third in the final 2006 poll, edged out Pomona Pitzer Colleges 95-to-94 to earn the #1 ranking in the nation. Pomona-Pitzer, which finsihed second in the final 2006 poll, is followed by former #1 ranked University of California-Santa Cruz (91), Johns Hopkins University (87) and California Lutheran University (81) to round out the top five teams.

Claremont Mudd Scripps Colleges (71), University of La Verne (64), Whittier College (54), Chapman College (53) and Occidental College (49) rank sixth through tenth, respectively.

This season, Redlands looks forward to the return of SCIAC Player of the Year and All-American senior Ryan Hall (Bellevue, WA), along with First Team All-Conference performer junior Andrew Becskehazy (Surfside, FL).  The Bulldogs will look to keep their perfect conference record when the SCIAC season kicks off on October 10, 2007 against the Whittier College Poets.
