Casey Regehr totaled 56 saves over a four game period at the
Claremont Convergence Tournament to lead the Poets to a 3-1 record.
He added eight more saves in limited action against No. 6 UC Santa
Barbara to give him a total of 62 saves for the weekend. In
Whittier's first game of the weekend he made four saves and dished
out two assists in a 15-4 win over Washington & Jefferson.
Regehr played only the first half. The 2008 All-American made 16
saves and had one assist in a near upset of Division I Air Force.
On the second day of the tournament Regehr tallied 20 saves which
includes one on a man down situation and registered one assist in
an 8-6 win over No. 1 Johns Hopkins University. As an encore to
that performance he added 16 more saves against Fordham in a 9-6
win. Two of his saves were in man down situations. The Poets played
one more game on Sunday, October 4, and lost to No. 6 UC Santa
Barbara. Regehr made 8 saves in the first half before he was forced
to leave the game due to an injury. For the weekend he had 62 saves
and four assists.
