The sophomore hurled the third longest hammer throw in NCAA
Division III history on Saturday in winning the event at the SCIAC
Quad Meet with a distance of 214’ 3”. He is only the
third person Division III athlete since 1993 to surpass the
210’ barrier in the hammer. Flores was one of only two
multi-event winners on the men’s side Saturday after taking
the shot put event (53’ 9.25”) by nearly two feet.
Flores took runner-up in the discus throw (139’ 9”)
coming up just short of the three event sweep. The CLU newcomer
currently holds the SCIAC record in the hammer and second best shot
put distance doing so in only four meets with the Kingsmen.
