The 2008 SCIAC Track and Field season got underway
under misty, cloudy skies Saturday, March 1, 2008 at
Pomona-Pitzer's Strehle Track. The conference-opening SCIAC
Invitational featured all eight conference schools in a scored (but
non-counting) invitational format. Claremont-Mudd-Scripps won both
the men's and women's meets.
Individually on the women's side, Redlands senior Natalie Calderon
won the 100m (12.61), long jump (17-8) and triple jump 36-7.5). For
the men's Claremont-Mudd-Scripps' Jeff Clark won the high jump
(6-7), the long jump (21-10), and triple jump (44-9.5).
The conference schools will next meet in the Top-Four (at CMS) and
Lower Quad (at Caltech) meets on Saturday, March 15. The SCIAC
Multi-Duals will be held at Redlands on April 12, and the SCIAC
Championships will be hosted by Claremont-M-S on April 25-26.
Final conference standings are based on the results of the
Multi-Duals and the Championship meets.
