Congratulations to Claremont-Mudd-Scripps' Alex Auerbach for
being named the SCIAC Male Athlete of the Week!
CMS: Alex Auerbach, Track & Field
The senior from Orinda ran an NCAA-qualifying time in the
800 meters at the California/Nevada Championships in the prelims
and then ran faster the next day in the finals. In the
prelims he ran 1:52.93, a personal best by 1.26 seconds, to qualify
for the finals and for the NCAA Championships. The final
consisted of six Division I runners, two Division II, one NAIA and
Auerbach. He finished eighth in the final and improved his
time to 1:52.91. His time is currently second in the
nation. CMS finished 10th in the meet.
