Redlands' White Wins Gold in Javelin at USATF Junior National Championships
July 4, 2005

University of Redlands track & field freshman Corey White (San Jose, CA) took home the gold medal in the javelin at the recent USA Track & Field Junior National Championships. White's amazing throw of 221' 4" bested the nearest competition by three feet, while improving upon his personal best by over six feet.

White now moves on to represent the United States at the Junior Pan-Am Games in Windsor, Ontario, Canada, at the end of July. He is also the first and only student-athlete from the University of Redlands and the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) to win a junior national championship.

Hosted at the Home Depot Center in Carson, the USATF Junior National Championships included all qualifying athletes under the age of 20, ranging from every division of college athletics to high school competitors.
