Redlands Men's Soccer Coach Ralph Perez Honored as NSCAA West Region Coach of the Year
The National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA)
recently released the 2011 NCAA Men's Regional Coaches of the Year
with the Ralph Perez of the University of Redlands earning the
Division III West Region award. Perez is one of 24 men's
soccer coaches from all NCAA divisions to be recognized by his
peers with this honor.
In his sixth season with the Bulldogs, Perez guided the Maroon and
Gray to an overall record of 20-3-2, which included an appearance
in the Round of 16 during the NCAA Championships. In addition,
Redlands registered a perfect 14-0-0 showing in Southern California
Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) action en route to the
program's 11th regular-season championship. The Bulldogs
outscored their conference opponents, 62-4, in the process.
Earlier in his career, Perez also earned collegiate coach of the
year honors at Old Dominion University and Santa Clara
University.
As a regional coach of the year, Perez now moves onto the ballot
for the national coach of the year, which will be announced at the
annual awards banquet on Friday, Jan. 13, 2012, at the 2012 NSCAA
Convention in Kansas City.
