Bulldog Men's Soccer Hosts First Round of NCAA Championships
With its exciting win over Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges during the finals of the SCIAC Postseason Tournament, the University of Redlands men's soccer team received the conference's automatic berth to the NCAA Championships. Entering its seventh consecutive postseason appearance, the Bulldogs learned Monday morning that they will serve as hosts to the first round of the tournament, facing regional rival UC Santa Cruz on Wednesday at 6 p.m.
This marks the fifth occasion since the 2001 campaign that these two teams will face off in the national tournament. Earlier this season, Redlands defeated the Slugs, 1-0, in Santa Cruz to bring the head-to-head record to 5-3-1 in favor of the Bulldogs.
Tickets for Wednesday's event will be sold at the gate as mandated by the NCAA. General admission tickets are $6, students and senior citizens (55 and over) are $3, while children ages 3-12 years old are $2. Children under 3 are free.
