La Verne senior forward Austin Napolitano reaches 1,000 points for his career
La Verne senior forward Austin Napolitano reached 1,000 points for his career in the first half against Occidental College Wednesday at Rush Gymnasium in Eagle Rock.
Entering the game needing six points for 1,000, Napolitano connected on a pair of field goals and a free throw in the opening three minutes of the contest to get within a point. Later he connected on a free throw at 11:38 in the half to reach the milestone.
A senior from San Dimas and a product of Damien High School, Napolitano becomes the third Leopard to join the 1,000-point club in the past 10 seasons and the first since Jason Greenlee in 2005.
