The senior center capped off Saturday's 60-54 victory over
Occidental by scoring his 1,000th career point. He led all players
with 22 points, 17 rebounds, and two steals in 39 minutes. Amid
foul trouble throughout he still managed to contribute 16 points,
12 rebounds and two assists in a home win over Caltech on
Wednesday. Van Klaveren is the only player in the SCIAC to average
a double-double per game. He leads the conference grabbing 10.6
rebounds per game, and ranks fourth scoring 16 points per contest.
Van Klaveren's 10 double-doubles are the eighth most in Division
III. He also ranks 15th in field goal percentage (.628) and 18th in
rebounds per game (10.6) in all of Division III.
