CMS to host Pomona-Pitzer in Men's Basketball Tournament Final

The Men's Basketball semi-final games concluded tonight with #1 seeded CMS defeating Cal Lutheran (#4) 60-54, and the third seeded Pomona-Pitzer with a 92-76 win over Whittier (#2).  CMS improved to 20-6 overall and will host their cross-street rivals Pomona-Pitzer (14-12) at 7:30 on Saturday night.  Cal Lutheran finished the season 18-8, while Whittier finished 16-10.

The tournament final is a rematch of last year's inaugural tournament when third-seeded Pomona-Pitzer hosted the fourth-seeded Stags.  The team that wins the SCIAC Postseason Tournament earns the conference's automatic bid into the 2009 NCAA Division III Post Season. 

Tickets for the event are $5 for adults, $2 for children 12 and under and senior citizens 55 and older and free to CMS and Pomona-Pitzer faculty, staff and students with current ID cards.
