Sagehens Claim Championship Tournament Title

Seniors Jabarri Reynolds and David Brown led the way as the Sagehens defeated rival CMS 55-53 in overtime to claim the first SCIAC Tournament championship and earn an automatic berth in the NCAA tournament. Brown led Pomona-Pitzer with 17 points on 6-11 shooting, including five three pointers. Reynolds scored 12 points and secured the victory with a freethrow in overtime. In front of a capacity crowd at Voelkel Gymnasium, it looked as though the Sagehens had sealed the game as time wound down, but CMS' Conner Faught hit a three pointer from the corner as time expired to send the game to overtime. In the final overtime period, the lead went back and forth, with the Sagehens grabbing the final edge.
