It was announced last week that University of Redlands senior
guard Amir Mazarei (Thousand Oaks, CA) landed on the D3Hoops.com
All-America Second Team after an outstanding final season to his
illustrious career.
Mazarei led all three divisions in three-pointers made, averaging 6.2 per game. He also ranks second in the nation for Division III in scoring at 28.6 points per game and third in the nation in steals with 3.8 per game. During the past season, he broke the school's all-time career records in scoring with 2,159 points, field goals made with 723, and steals with 249. He finished his senior year with 658 points and 87 steals. Earlier this month, Mazarei was named the D3Hoops.com West Region Co-Player of the Year as a member of the First Team.
Mazarei is the first University of Redlands men's or women's basketball player to earn D3Hoops.com All-American honors since its inception in 1997-98.
