SCIAC Honors Athletes of Week: Redlands'

The SCIAC Athletes of the Week have been named and the honorees are: Redlands' R.J. Scholl (men's golf); CMS' Matt Roberson (men's track and field); and Redlands' Ashley Milligan (women's track and field).
Redlands: R.J. Scholl (Men's Golf)
Scholl tied for first place at the SCIAC 36-hole Championships on
Monday with a two-round total of 143 for one-under par. The senior
helped Redlands finish 2nd at the tournament and win the conference
title overall. R.J. and teammate Nick Obie earned SCIAC Co-Players
of the Year for their consistent low-scoring performances at
conference competitions.
CMS: Matt Roberson (Men's Track &
Field)
The senior from Seattle, WA won two individual events and anchored
the winning 4 x 400 relay to lead the Stags to their 15th straight
SCIAC Championship. He went from fourth to first on his final
attempt in the long jump to set the CMS school record of 23-4.5 and
win by a foot. He won the 400 hurdles by 1.55 seconds and the relay
team won by over two seconds. He also placed second in the pole
vault, third in the 110 hurdles, fourth in the triple jump, fifth
in the javelin and made the finals in both the shot put and discus.
He scored 42.5 points in the meet, 19.5 more than the next highest
individual total. An NCAA qualifier in both the long jump and 400
hurdles, Roberson also leads the nation in the decathlon.
Redlands: Ashley Milligan (Women's Track and
Field)
In only her first year as a collegiate student-athlete, Ashley
proved invaluable at the SCIAC Championships on Monday and Tuesday
as she captured conference titles in the 100 with a time of 12.47
and 200 by crossing the finish line in 25.84. She also ran the
third leg of the winning 4x100 relay that finished in 49.56, while
competing on the second-place 4x400 relay that clocked in at
4:03.95. Overall, she contributed 38 points to the Bulldogs' total
of 102.
