> D3football Team of the Week

Senior quarterback Ricky Bautista of Chapman was named to the D3football Team of the Week as recently announced by the organization following a tremendous performance against Redlands on Oct. 14.

The Irvine, Calif. native, who was also named the SCIAC Football Athlete of the Week, completed 21-of-29 passes and threw for four touchdowns, throwing for over 70% efficiency for the third week in a row helping his squad stake a 45-26 victory over the Bulldogs. Bautista also ran for one touchdown to cap off his 414-yard game and second 400-plus yard game of his career, becoming the first of any Chapman quarterback to accomplish two 400-plus yard games.

Bautista is the first Chapman football player to be selected to d3football.com's Team of the Week since Jeremiah McKibbons was nominated twice in 2014. He is only the 13th Panther and first quarterback to be named to the Team of the Week since it originated 19 seasons ago.

Baustista is the second SCIAC football player to garner this honor in 2017 as Nathan Hierlihy of Redlands was named to the D3football Team of the Week following week one action.
