Friederichsen was superb in the Kingsmen’s 28-13 victory over Willamette. The senior quarterback was 23-for-30 through the air with four touchdown passes. The Westlake Village, Calif. native was an impressive 14-for-15 in the first half, and his longest completion of the game was a 54-yard toss to Aaron Lacombe. Friederichsen finished with a completion percentage and averaged 9.5 yards per pass as Cal Lutheran improved to 2-0 on the season.

Isabel was terrific despite a 41-35 overtime loss to Trinity (Texas) on Saturday. Isabel registered 109 receiving yards on just four catches including a long reception of 57 yards as well as a touchdown. A versatile threat for the Panthers, Isabel also featured on Chapman’s special teams units notching 144 yards on three kickoff returns including a 96-yard scamper for a touchdown. The senior wideout from Pleasanton, Calif. also rushed for nine yards on two carries, including a reverse for eight yards.

Mudie was stellar out of the Panthers’ backfield carrying the ball 21 times and picking up 104 yards on the ground, while also hauling in a pair of passes for 32 yards. Mudie’s biggest contribution came on the final play of the game as he found the endzone for the game-winning score in a 42-40 victory over Pomona-Pitzer to kickoff SCIAC action. Mudie was not brought down in the backfield against the Sagehens and has not been tackled for a loss in three games this season.

Birir was tremendous on the ground for Pomona-Pitzer in a 43-41 loss to Cal Lutheran. Birir racked up 275 rushing yards which set a Sagehens’ single-game rushing record, and found the endzone five times. The Novato, Calif. native had a long TD run of 60 yards in the second quarter, and a 23-yard scamper in the fourth quarter. He also scored on runs of five, three and one yards as he accounted for all but one of Pomona-Pitzer’s six scores on the day.

Bautista led Chapman to a 45-26 victory as the Panthers remained unbeaten in SCIAC competition and improve to 3-0. Baustista was 21-for-29 through the air for 414 yards, becoming the first Chapman quarterback to throw for over 400 yards in multiple games in his career. He tossed four touchdown passes for the second straight week and also found the endzone with his legs for the Panthers’ first score of the game. The senior from Irvine, Calif. hurled scoring passes of 69, 29, 21, and 28 yards.
